  • Computers
    10 computers are available for public use and offer access to the internet.
  • Fax and photocopying
    A fax and photocopier are available at the Library for a small charge.
  • Sure Start and the Northend Neighbourhood College
    Sure Start and the Northend Neighbourhood College are also based in St James Centre and a cafe facility is available.
  • Information Point
    St James’ Library is an information point, providing the latest information about Council services, including:
    - Waste collections - Anti social behaviour - Pest control - Electoral registration - Blue badges - Payments to the Council (using credit or debit cards only) - Council tax - Business rates - Housing rents - Parking fines - Miscellaneous invoices
  • Read Yourself Well
    Read Yourself Well materials include books, leaflets and CDs. They provide information on medical conditions, treatments, mental health, alternative therapies, relaxation, healthy living and lots more. Information about local support groups and services is also available.

    For babies 0-18 months.

    For stories, rhymes, colouring and fun.

    Tuesdays 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Access Information

The library is situated in St James Centre on Laird St (close to the St James Church Roundabout and opposite the Miriam Street Clinic).

There is a car park at the back of the building which has two parking bays for disabled drivers.

St James Centre has automatic doors and all areas are fully accessible for wheelchair users. There is an accessible toilet and a lift to all floors.

There is a Hearing Loop in the library.
