Facilities

One Stop Shop
A Council One Stop Shop is located next to the library and offers information about all Council services. Open Monday to Friday from 9am - 5pm.

Community Hall and Meeting Room for Hire
Available for meetings, parties and training etc. Please contact the library for details.

Photocopying, printing, scanning and fax services
Photocopying, printing, scanning and fax services are available for a small charge.

Computers
There are 15 computers available for the public to use.

 

Activities

Adult Reading Group
The adult reading group provides lively discussions on a varied range of reading material from classics to contemporary and popular fiction. Discussions are lively with tea and coffee provided. New members are always welcome and tea and coffee is provided.
This thriving group meets every 3rd Thursday afternoon of the month at 2pm.
Please ask library staff for details of the next meeting or see the notice board in the library.

Get into Reading - Adult Reading Group
All are welcome to come and share short stories, poems and chapter books with the group over tea and toast.
Meets every Thursday 9.30am – 11.00am.

Craft Sessions
Regular events and craft sessions are held during the school holidays. See library notice boards for information.

Baby Bounce and Rhyme
Introduce your baby to the library with interactive play and nursery rhymes. For Babies 0 to 2 and their carers.
Every Monday afternoon 2.30pm - 3pm (Term-time only).

Rhymetime
Rhymes and poems for children of 2 to school age. Please contact the library for information about the next session.

Storytime
Stories and rhymes for children aged 2 upwards.
Tuesdays 2.15pm -2.45pm (term-time only).

Bookstart
Free books for 4s and under are available at this, and all other Wirral Libraries.
There are three categories:
- Books for Babies - 0 to 12 months
- Bookstart Plus - 18months to 2 years
- Treasure Chests - 3 to 4 year olds
Please call into your local library and ask for your FREE Bookstart books.

Talks and Coffee Mornings
A varied programme of talks and coffee mornings takes place throughout the year. Please contact the library for information about forthcoming events.

Items for Sale
We have a range of posters and workbooks for sale.

Computer and other courses
The library offers a number of computer and other courses, including ESOL (English as a Second Language).
Courses take place every Saturday in the Community Hall.
Please book through Birkenhead Sixth Form College.

Other Courses
NHS Wirral run a range of FREE courses in the Library Community Hall: Tai Chi, Mens Circuit Training, Weight Control and Exercise.

Pop - In
Pop - In is a social afternoon for older residents held in the Library’s Community Hal. It offers chat, quizzes, bingo and music. Everyone is sure of a friendly welcome over a cup of tea.
Meets in the afternoon on the last Friday of each month

Councillor Surgeries
Surgeries are held every Saturday between 10am - 11am (except August).

Polish Books
A small selection of books in Polish available for loan at this library.

 

Access Information

Rock Ferry Library has designated parking outside, with level access into the library and automatic doors.

A disabled public toilet is available and the library also has a hearing loop system.
