Schools Library Service - Advice and training

The Schools Libary Service offers help and advice on all aspects of your school library (including help over the telephone if needed) on many matters, including:

  • Planning and organising your library
  • Computerised library management systems
  • Talks and display collections on a variety of subjects, for children, parents and teachers
  • Selection of materials
  • Information on new fiction, picture books and award winners
  • Surveys of the library and advice on library development
  • Buying books.

 

Training courses

The service also offers occasional courses on all aspects of library management and resource provision for secondary school librarians, teachers and teaching assistants in primary schools.
