Computers and children
Most of our libraries offer computers and access to the internet. They provide a great opportunity for parents to introduce younger children to computers and for older children to discover how computers can help with school work and play.
The internet service enables users to browse the World Wide Web or use one of the many web-based e-mail facilities.
For advice and guidance on using the internet please see our Code of Practice. Before children are allowed to use the internet, permission will be needed from a parent or guardian.
Filtering software will be in operation on those computers being used by children. There is no charge for users wishing to use computers or browse the internet for the first half-hour (with a charge of 70p per half hour thereafter).
