Lifelong Learning: Learner Support

We know that some adult learners may need learning support to help them achieve their potential. This may be because they have a physical disability, general learning difficulty, specific learning difficulty (for example dyslexia), mental health needs, sensory support needs (for example hearing impairment), or behavioural support needs.

Lifelong Learning aims to make sure that all learners get the most from their course and enjoy learning with us.

What support can we offer?

We work with partners to provide some specialised courses for students with learning disabilities and can provide support in class for identified learners.

We have a small team of Learning Support staff who work with learners to identify their support needs and help them achieve their learning goals in class.

How to contact us

Further information about widening participation

The Lifelong and Family Learning Service aims to widen participation in adult learning by offering high quality 'first rung' learning opportunities and to help learners to progress on to further opportunities.

If you would like to know more about how we will develop our services you can download our Strategic Development Plan 2011-12.
