Jobcentre Plus

Jobcentre Plus is part of the Government’s Department for Work and Pensions. It aims to:

  • help more people into paid work
  • help employers fill their vacancies, and
  • give people of working age the help and support they are entitled to if they cannot work

Jobcentre Plus operates from five offices in Wirral and offers a number of programmes and services to help Jobseekers, lone parents, people with a health condition or disability and others who may need extra help in finding work.

Future Jobs Fund

Wirral Council is working with partners from across the Merseyside to create 6000+ jobs for long term unemployed people. These jobs will provide opportunities for training and experience in a wide range of areas and are open to those who have been on Job Seekers' Allowance for between nine and 11 months and those who have been on Incapacity Benefit, Employment Support Allowance or Income Support for more than nine months.
