Private Landlords and Managing Agents
The Selective Licencing scheme will come into effect in four designated parts of Wirral on 1st July 2015.
It will require landlords who privately rent out properties in the four areas to obtain a licence from the Council. It is a criminal offence to let a privately rented property in a designated area without a licence, or fail to comply with any of the conditions of the licence.
You can find out more about Selective Licensing, including maps and address lists for the four designated areas, elsewhere on this website.
Wirral Council works closely with landlords and Managing Agents through the Landlord Accreditation Team who administer the Property Accreditation Scheme and offer support in several ways including:
- Private Landlord Forum supported by the Private Landlord Forum Steering Group
- Landlord Link-Up Newsletter
Private Landlord Forum
The Forums are a great chance to discuss issues with property professionals and Council staff. You can also network with other landlords and letting agents and speak to representatives of companies providing services relevant to you.
Details for the next meeting will be posted here as soon as they are available. In the meantime, if you would like more information or details of sponsorship opportunities, please call 0151 691 8132 or e-mail the Landlord Accreditation Team.
Private Landlord Forum Steering Group
The Private Landlord Forum Steering Group consists of landlords, agents and Council officers who meet on a regular basis. Your feedback at the Forum is important to us.
Please see the Landlord Forum Steering Group Terms of Reference.
To contact the Chair of the group please send an e-mail marked FAO Helen Evans to the Landlord Accreditation Team.
