Affordable Warmth Implementation Plan 2012-14
Wirral Council has been working towards eradicating fuel poverty since the launch of the first Merseyside Affordable Warmth Strategy in 2001. In January 2012, the Council’s Cabinet approved an updated strategy in the form of a new Affordable Warmth Implementation Plan. This sets out a plan of action from 2012 until 2014 to continue towards removing households from fuel poverty.
The Implementation Plan cannot be delivered by the Council alone as the factors influencing fuel poverty are wide and varied. The development of the Plan included a consultation and collaboration with partners such as housing associations, advice and advocacy organisations, energy efficiency charities and energy companies. The Council will continue to work with these groups to deliver the strategies and objectives outlined in the Implementation Plan.
