Moving to Wirral
Wirral sits in the North West of England between the River Dee and the River Mersey. Residents of Wirral benefit from acres of country parks, beaches and countryside. Wherever you go the natural beauty of this unique peninsula is outstanding.
The UK’s biggest regeneration project, Wirral Waters, is taking place in Birkenhead and Wallasey. This visionary £4.5 billion, 30 year redevelopment of Birkenhead and Wallasey docks will have a major economic impact on Wirral and the Northwest region, creating around 27,000 jobs.
It will also create a new neighbourhood with a wider choice of homes. Wirral is also home to a number of well known companies such as Unilever, Typhoo and Shell.
Recreation is easy - from some of the best sailing in the world, and browsing at the world famous Lady Lever Art Gallery, to a round of golf with friends at one of Wirral’s 14 golf courses. The choice of world class fairways includes the 2014 Open Championship course at Royal Liverpool Golf Club.
A range of homes to suit all budgets make Wirral a highly desirable residential area, which is completed by the choice of excellent schools. Wirral is home to a wide range of primary, secondary and special needs schools, as well as a number of independent private schools. Education standards in the borough are above average and inspection reports indicate that Wirral has more good and very good schools than other authorities.
Both Liverpool and Chester are easily accessible, with Manchester and Wales also nearby. Excellent transport links in and out of the borough make Wirral an ideal place to commute to and from.
