New Build HomeBuy
New Build HomeBuy, previously known as Shared Ownership, is where you buy a percentage of a home from a Registered Social Landlord and rent the remaining part of the property.
Usually between 25% or 75% share of a home is bought and it may be possible to buy additional shares (known as ‘staircasing’).
For example:
Mr and Mrs Jones originally bought a 50% share of their home in 2002. Due to a change in their financial circumstances they were then able to purchase a further 25% share in 2007.
Mr and Mrs Jones now own 75% of their home.
