Bin collections

To check the date of your next wheelie bin collection, put your street name in the box in the right hand column and your collection days will be displayed.

- please do not use abbreviations such as rd or st in the search

  • (NB: If you live in a flat or apartment, please contact Streetscene for your day of collection)

It has never been easier to recycle your waste. 99% of Wirral's homes now have a grey wheelie bin for recycling plastic bottles, glass bottles and jars, steel and aluminium cans and tins, cardboard, paper, magazines and newspapers.

Since we implemented the grey recycling bin system, our recycling rates have rocketed! Latest figures show that 37% of all Wirral's waste is being recycled! We hope that this gets higher and higher.

Garden waste can be composted at home, or recycled in your garden waste brown wheelie bin if you have one, or at a Household Waste Recycling Centre.

Most other rubbish can go in your green bin; clothes, tetra pack cartons, books, glass etc can be recycled at a Recycling Bring Site.

Presenting your bin correctly

If your bin goes missing on the day of collection, please contact Streetscene by phone (0151 606 2004), email (streetscene@wirral.gov.uk) or online, by 5pm the next working day after collection or you could be charged for a new bin (see bin charging for further details). Report a missing bin.
