Contaminated Land
Much of Wirral's contaminated land is a legacy of its industrial past.
Part IIA of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 requires Councils to inspect the land in their area for contamination. Wirral Council has therfore developed a strategy, which sets out how the inspection process will be carried out. You can download Wirral Council's Contaminated Land Inspection Strategy.
The Council’s Public Register of Contaminated Land is available for inspection at Wallasey Town Hall.
