Purpose of the exercise:
A recent report into supply and demand for taxis in Wirral suggested a number of options as to how the Council could approach the licensing of Hackney Carriage vehicles (black cabs) in the borough. Wirral Council asked the public and the taxi trade for their views on the four options that were put forward in the report.

Members of the public and the taxi trade were able to have their say in an online survey or by completing a questionnaire at any Council One Stop Shop.

Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:
The comments received from this consultation will be presented in a report in January 2012, to the Licensing Health and Safety and General Purposes Committee of the Council. The comments will be considered when the Committee decides which of the options from the report will be implemented.
