Start date: 12th November 2010

End date: 30th November 2010

Purpose of the exercise:
Safer Wirral is a partnership of local agencies who work together to make Wirral a safer place to live work and visit. The partnership is made up of many organisations including Wirral Council, Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, various youth services and the Probation Service.

Every year the priorities for the partnership are published in the Community Safety Partnership Strategy. Before the strategy is published Safer Wirral is asking local residents, businesses and other organisations about their community safety priorities. This will help us to make sure that our efforts are focused on the issues that are most important to people in Wirral.

Who will be consulted and how:
The consultation was open to all people who live, work and visit Wirral. We talked to a wide range of local community groups, discussing it at local Area Forums and making the survey available online.

Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:
The results will be reported to the Safer Wirral Partnership and will inform the priorities for the Community Safety Partnership Strategy.

What were the results of the exercise:
The results of the consultation are summarised in the Community Safety section of this website.

What changes to the service will take place as a result of the exercise:
The findings of the consultation will set the priorities for the Community Safety Partnership Strategy update which will be published on this website in April 2011.
