Purpose of the exercise:
Wirral Council invited local people and organisations to have your say on the contents of the Wirral Affordable Warmth Implementation Plan. This is a plan that aims to ensure as many people as possible have access to affordable warmth. “Affordable Warmth” is the right of every household to be able to heat their home to an adequate temperature without spending more than 10% of their income.
Who was consulted and how:
The consultation involved partners such as housing associations, advice and advocacy organisations, energy efficiency charities and energy companies. The Council also invited residents’ views on how it and its partners can assist in making homes more affordably warm.
A questionnaire was available online and in every Wirral library and One Stop Shop.
Who will the results of the exercise be reported to:
The results will be analysed and fed into the Implementation Plan by the Wirral Affordable Warmth Steering Group. The final Plan will be reported to the Council’s Cabinet in January 2012.
What changes to the service will take place as a result of the exercise:
The consultation will shape and contribute to the delivery of the Affordable Warmth Implementation Plan.
