'Your Wirral' funding for community and voluntary groups
Your Wirral offers grants of up to £2,500 to local community or voluntary groups for one-off projects, which fit under at least one of the following themes:
- Creating an attractive and safe environment
- Contributing to community economic regeneration
- Preventing crime or reducing the fear of crime
- Providing employment and training for local people
- Benefiting local people who face discrimination
- Improving community facilities
- Engaging communities to improve quality of life
The fund, which is administered by Wirral Council and Wirral Partnership Homes, was launched in 2007 and has so far awarded more than £1.25 million to support projects and events right across Wirral.
Award dates in 2012
Up to £250,000 is available each year and applications can be made during the three funding rounds, which take place on the following dates in 2012:
Round 1 - February 2012:
Applications received 13 – 24th Feb
Applications assessed from 27th Feb onwards
Funds paid to successful projects 30th April onwards
Round 2 - June 2012:
Applications received 4th – 15th June
Applications assessed from 2nd July onwards
Funds paid to successful projects 27th August onwards
Round 3 - October 2012:
Applications received 1st – 12th October
Applications assessed from 5th November onwards
Funds paid to successful projects 10th December onwards
