Area Forums

Area Forums are one of the key ways that the Council engages with local people and gives them an opportunity to shape services in their neighbourhood.

There are 11 Area Forums in Wirral, so there will be one where you live. You can also download a map showing where the different Area Forums are across Wirral.

All residents are encouraged to attend their local Area Forum meeting; details of their dates and venues will be published on this page of the website.

Area Forums were established in 2001 and are a positive and active partnership of local people and organisations working together to tackle local issues.

They meet three times a year to listen to local peoples opinions and provide an opportunity to talk with other local service providers, including Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, Wirral University Hospital Trust and NHS Wirral.

Each Forum has developed a Local Area Plan, which feeds into Wirral’s Local Area Agreement.

All residents are very welcome to come along to gives us their views and ideas about where they live.

Every meeting includes a public ‘question time’ where residents can ask their local councillors and the Council and its partners, anything about their local area.

There are also informative presentations to let residents know what the Council and its partners are doing in their area.

Issues that are raised and resolved through the area forums will be communicated through the area coordinators report at each area forum and through the area forum newsletter.
