Conclusion of the Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006

The statutory review of polling districts and places is now concluded. 

There are three changes to polling district boundaries and six changes of polling places.  The relevant minutes of the Licensing, Health and Safety and General Purposes Committee held on 10th November 2011 are available here.

A full review of polling districts and places must take place every four years. However, Wirral continuously reviews the voting arrangements and comments or suggestions can be made at any time to the above address.

The reasons for the adoption of the changes are as set out in Appendix 3 of the Agenda of the Licensing, Health and Safety and General Purposes Committee held on 10th November 2011 which a are available here.

Following the conclusion of the local authority’s review individuals have a right to make representations to the Electoral Commission.  Representations to the Commission should be made within six weeks from the date of this notice.

The Commission will only consider representations that the review process has not been conducted correctly, has failed to meet the reasonable requirements of the electors in the constituency or has failed to take sufficient account of accessibility to disabled persons of the polling stations within a polling place.
