Wirral Anti-Social Behaviour Team
Wirral's Anti-Social Behaviour Team co-ordinates delivery of Wirral’s strategy to tackle anti-social behaviour. It is based within Wirral Council and has officers seconded from Merseyside Police.
The team takes enforcement action against both adults and young people engaged in anti-social and criminal behaviour. See dealing with perpetrators. The team is also contracted by Registered Providers of social housing, Beechwood & Ballantyne Community Housing Association and Leasowe Community Homes, to deal with their most serious and/or persistent cases of anti-social behaviour.
The team uses a Respect Bus for its work in communities. This is a single deck converted bus equipped with seating, a kitchen area, external canopy and directional lighting rig for activity during the darker nights. The team's work also relies on a Community Reassurance Vehicle equipped with CCTV. This is often used when working in communities and when serving legal orders on perpetrators of anti-social behaviour.
The Anti-Social Behaviour Team is based within the Children and Young People's Department as part of an Integrated Youth Support Service.
