Fostering Service

Wirral Fostering Service is a local authority-run service, which is part of the Children and Young People’s Department of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council. 

Our aims are: 

  • To provide high quality placements for children that match a child’s assessed need as closely as possible.
  • To provide high quality supervision, advice, direction, training, support, and management of foster carers.
  • To provide a high quality referral and information service to social workers, other agencies and the community.

The service has a team manager, team leaders, supervising social workers, support workers, and team clerks.

Each year we publish a Statement of Purpose and Function which explains the aims of objectives of our service and how we will meet outcomes for children.  You can download the 2011 Statement of Purpose and Function from this page.

What if I am not happy with the service?
