The Department for Education (DfE)
The Government's Department for Education was formed on 12 May 2010 and is responsible for education and children's services. The Department for Education website contains lots of statutory guidance and legislation, which continues to reflect the current legal position unless indicated otherwise, but may not reflect Government policy.  You can view Safer Recruitment On-line Training on this website.

The Training and Development Agency for Schools
The Training and Development Agency for Schools (TDA) is the national agency and recognised sector body responsible for the training and development of the school workforce.

Equality & Human Rights Commission
The Equality and Human Rights Commission was established to promote equality and human rights and create a fairer Britain. National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (NCPTA)
National Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations aims to advance education by encouraging the fullest co-operation between home and school, education authorities, central government and all other interested parties and bodies. National Co-Ordinators of Governor Services
The National Co-Ordinators of Governor Services (NCOGS) website  provides a platform for NCOGS members to share news and views and co-ordinate responses for government consultations.

National Curriculum
The National Curriculum website gives details of the National Curriculum in all subjects.

National Governors' Association 
The National Governors' Association aims are to consult and represent governors and promote high standards in the exercise of governors' responsibilities. Their website includes good practice guides, its regular magazine Governors' News, press releases, research papers and the responses it has made to national consultations. Office For Public Sector Information
The Office For Public Sector Information operates from within the National Archives and is at the heart of information policy, setting standards, delivering access and encouraging the re-use of public sector information. They provide a wide range of services to the public, information industry, government and the wider public sector relating to finding, using, sharing and trading information.

Parent Governor Representatives 
The Parent Governor Representatives website provides regular newsletters and a forum for PGRs to exchange news, views and advice. 

School Governors One Stop Shop
The School Governors One Stop Shop can help Schools in Wirral to find new school governors (apart from Authority vacancies). Their services are all 'free of charge' and they can be contacted on their general telephone number: 0207 354 9805.

Schoolsnet
The Schoolsnet website was created in 1999 and has become one of the leading online guides to schools. It provides detailed profiles, exam results, and inspection reports relating to nearly 27,000 schools (including state primary, state secondary, independent preparatory and junior schools and independent secondary).

In the autumn of 2006, Schoolsnet became the only website in the United Kingdom to allow parents to write their own reviews of every school in the country. And in January 2007, it became the first online community specifically for parents.

The Advisory Centre for Education (ACE)
The Advisory Centre for Education website supports its mission to "press for a fairer and more responsive education system" and gives free advice to parents of children in state schools, and issues books and periodicals.
