The Department for Education (DfE)
The Government's Department for Education was formed on 12 May 2010 and is responsible for education and children's services. The Department for Education website contains lots of statutory guidance and legislation, which continues to reflect the current legal position unless indicated otherwise, but may not reflect Government policy. Schoolsnet
The Schoolsnet website was created in 1999 and has become one of the leading online guides to schools. It provides detailed profiles, exam results, and inspection reports relating to nearly 27,000 schools (including state primary, state secondary, independent preparatory and junior schools and independent secondary).
In the autumn of 2006, Schoolsnet became the only website in the United Kingdom to allow parents to write their own reviews of every school in the country. And in January 2007, it became the first online community specifically for parents.
