New Legislation - September 2012
These recently published Regulations will come into force in September 2012:
- The School Governance (Federations) (England) Regulations 2012 SI 1035/2012 . These Regulations apply to federations consisting of all categories of maintained schools in England.
- The School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012 SI 1034/2012. These Regulations set out arrangements for the constitution of governing bodies of maintained schools, which includes maintained nursery schools, in England.
- The School Discipline (Pupil Exclusions and Reviews) (England) Regulations 2012 SI 1033/2012. These Regulations make provision re the power of head teachers of maintained schools, teachers in charge of PRUs and principals of Academy schools and alternative provision Academies, to exclude pupils under s51A Education Act 2002.
- The School Information (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012 - SI 1124 . These Regulations make amendments to the School Information (England) Regulations 2008. Regulation 2(3) removes the requirement upon governing bodies of maintained schools to publish a school prospectus annually and for special schools to make copies of their prospectus available for distribution to parents and other persons. Instead a new requirement is introduced to publish the information on a website.
