Tenders and contracts
Our objective is to obtain best value for the procurement of supplies and services for the Council. Our forecast expenditure for the 2010-2011 financial year is approximately £150m.
The Council operates a fair and open competition by following transparent and auditable procedures in all its tendering and contracting activity. It aims to provide a wide range of businesses with a variety of commercial opportunities. Opportunities for working with Wirral Council are advertised on the North West’s local authority procurement portal The Chest.
We endeavor to provide all businesses with the knowledge they need in order to submit quotations or tenders for contracts. We also provide guidance on some key factors that businesses will need to consider in relation to the procurement process including:
- What kind of contracts do we let?
- How to tender for Council business
- Where we advertise new contracts
- Becoming a Council supplier
Details of local business events are available on the Wirral Business Forum website.
