Workplace Travel Plans

Providing sustainable travel options for employees and customers makes good business sense. It can save time, improve the environment and when you add the associated costs like staff expenses, car park charges and fleet management costs, it offers financial savings too.

Our Travel Advisor will be available to discuss specific circumstances and needs of each business and tailor a programme to display how to reduce reliance on car based transport. For example, reducing the need to travel can increase productivity by reducing the time staff are away from their desk. Another example could be focusing on business travel and reducing the cost of these journeys.

There are two different levels of service offered; Standard and Business Assist.

The Standard package primarily consists of web and information based tools that require less intensive work with the Business Travel Advisor.

The Business Assist package builds on these tools by offering face to face guidance, training and tailored solutions in line with each company’s specific circumstances.

Workplace Infrastructure Improvement Grant

The Council is offering a Workplace Infrastructure Improvement Grant to enable businesses within East Wirral to encourage employees to travel sustainably to their sites. Improvements could include cycle parking or a free trial public transport pass for staff. The improvements do not just have to focus on how staff travel to work but could be based on reducing mileage or improving driver technique to reduce petrol costs.
