The Wirral ILM

Wirral Council has announced another round of its successful Intermediate Labour Market (ILM) initiative, supporting people into work whilst helping small and medium sized businesses to grow.

What is The Wirral ILM?
We are looking for employers who can offer employment and support to people returning to the workplace. If you can offer a new post and dedicated supervision, we can offer part-funding of salary costs over 12 months, sourcing and funding training opportunities, and ongoing employee and employer support.

Who is it for?
Wirral employers are eligible to apply for funding, with priority given to local small and medium sized employers. Eligible jobs will only be open to people who are not currently working.

How can my company benefit?
If successful, you can benefit from an additional employee(s) to support your business and potentially enable your business to grow. You will be reimbursed with 50% of the employee’s salary costs (at £6.08 per hour for up to 35 hours per week), plus employers National Insurance contributions. You will also be supported by a named Wirral Council member of staff, who can support in areas such as recruitment, sourcing employee training and other employment issues as needed for the full subsidy period.

If your company could benefit from employing someone who may have been unemployed for some time, but who is keen to work and develop, The Wirral ILM can support your business to grow.

What do I need to do?
If you think your company could benefit from the scheme, please call 0151 691 8294 before 20th June for more information, and speak to one of the Wirral ILM team to arrange an employer visit.
