Liverpool City Region - City Employment and Strategy
Wirral Council is committed to investing in people and is a partner in the City Employment Strategy (CES) Pathfinder.
Established in 2006, the Liverpool City Region CES is one of 15 pilot areas identified by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The primary aim of the CES is to tackle worklessness and low skills in the most disadvantaged communities across the Liverpool City Region. An underlying principle of the CES is based on the idea that local partners can deliver more if they combine and align their efforts behind shared priorities and, given more freedom, to try out new ideas and to tailor services in the response to local need.
In working to this sub-regional agenda, the CES aims to contribute to the government’s aspiration to achieve an 80% employment rate and eliminate child poverty.
Partners in the Liverpool City Region have agreed the City Region Employment and Skills Strategy and Commissioning Plan as the primary documents for setting out the vision for how employment and skills services are to be integrated locally within the City Region and the strategic priorities for investment.
