How to pay your Council Tax

Set up a Direct Debit

The best way to pay Council Tax is by Direct Debit. You can pay your bill in 10 or 12 monthly instalments if you pay by Direct Debit.

If you pay by Direct Debit you can choose from a range of dates when you would like to pay - the 5th, 12th, 20th or 28th of each month.

Set up a Direct Debit

  • Or call 0151 606 2002 and have your bank details ready.
  • Print off and complete a mandate to instruct your bank. Once we have received your instruction, we will speak to your bank and send you a revised bill.

The first monthly instalment under the Direct Debit plan will always be at least 10 working days after we send you the bill.

If you are a current Direct Debit payer and need to change your Direct Debit details, manage your account online and have your Council Tax account number and bank details ready.
