Complaints about Children's Social Care
Complaints about Children's Services are governed by national legislation and do not fall under the Council's general complaints procedure.
The Complaints Policy and Procedure document sets out the procedures and help available if you want to complain about Children and Young People's Social Services.
If you wish to make a complaint about social services for children and young people, you can do so by:
- Emailing CYPD complaints.
- Phoning us on (0151) 666 5677, or, if you are a looked after child, on (0151) 666 4340.
- Writing to us at the Customer Resolution and Information Team, Hamilton Building, Conway Street, Birkenhead, CH41 4FD
The Have Your Say leaflet is another way to tell us if you have any ideas, comments or complaints about the Children’s Social Care you have received.
Complaints about services not run by the Council (such as independent residential homes, day care provision and home care agencies) should be dealt with through the providers' own complaints procedures.
School appeal or tribunal procedures such as admissions, exclusions and special educational needs have their own complaints procedure, which is covered in the Complaints against schools section of this website.
