Proof of State Benefits for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit

If you are claiming Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit we will need to know about any state benefits that you already receive.

Recent award letters or bank statements (these must cover the last two months and show all credits and debits) are needed for the following income:

  • Attendance Allowance
  • Bereavement Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Employment and Support Allowance
  • Incapacity Benefit
  • Invalid Care Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Jobseeker's Allowance
  • Maternity Allowance
  • State Retirement Pension
  • War Widow's Pension
  • War Disablement Pension
  • Widow's Pension
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Youth Training Schemes

You can bring your documents to any One Stop Shop where a member of staff will be happy to copy and verify them for you.

Remember: All documents must be originals. Photocopies will not be accepted.
