Over the next few years, Wirral Council must radically alter how it delivers key services to ensure we provide better value for money for the Council Tax payer and support regeneration across the borough. The Council has produced a question and answer sheet, which will be updated regularly to make sure that local people are kept informed on proposals to transform Wirral through the Strategic Asset Review.
The Council has conducted a comprehensive review of its built assets to ensure they are fit for the 21st Century and beyond. The residents of Wirral deserve to access excellent services from buildings that are modern and appropriate. Given the rising costs of maintaining aging buildings and increasing energy costs, doing nothing is not a prudent option. It would be irresponsible to pretend the situation is sustainable.
