In Wirral, the Safeguarding Adults Partnership Board (SAPB) ensures that a wide range of agencies, services and people work together to safeguard adults at risk.

These partners include:

  • NHS
  • housing
  • police
  • hospitals
  • Care Quality Commission
  • voluntary sector
  • people who use services
  • carers

How the board works

The board aims to raise awareness of what constitutes adult abuse, how to respond, and what actions to take to prevent abuse reoccurring. It continually reviews the operational systems and processes that reduce the risk of abuse. It also provides a strategic overview to ensure a consistent professional response to abuse and inadequate care.
