Wirral Facts & Figures

Out intention is to develop these pages so that they contain a range of information about Wirral and its residents.

We hope that the information will cover population, un/employment, social status, deprivation, housing, the environment, crime and health.

We hope to provide information for the whole of Wirral and for sub-divisions of Wirral (e.g. 'old' Wards (pre-2004), 'new' Wards (2004 onwards) and Townships), and possibly information for Merseyside and the North-West for comparison.

At present the following information is available :-

• 2001 Census figures
  This includes population figures, employment figures, travel data, car ownership.
• 1991 Census figures
  This includes numbers of residents in various age groups.
• Environmental information
  This includes information about air quality, bathing water quality and drinking water quality.
