Wirral’s Youth Support Service is currently recruiting for community volunteers to join its service in delivering inspiring workshops and activities for young people mainly aged 13-19 years.

We want to broaden young people’s horizons and excite them, create opportunities for them to engage and get involved.  We want to help them find out what interests them and equip them with skills and knowledge.

This project is being funded by Wallasey Constituency Committee.

What are the criteria?

We are looking for people of any age from all backgrounds and walks of life to share their expertise, knowledge and passion with young people.

This might be something you undertake as a job or a hobby or may be practical life skills that will help equip young people for the future.  You may want to deliver one workshop, activity or taster session from time to time or a series of workshops.

Whilst we are hoping to recruit people from the local community we welcome applicants who live outside of the Wallasey constituency.

How do I apply?

You can download and complete an application form. This should be emailed to [email protected] or posted to:

Wallasey Team,
Leasowe Millennium Centre,
Twickenham Drive,
Leasowe,
Wirral,
CH46 1PQ.

What will happen next?

Your application will be reviewed by a group of young people supported by our youth workers.  You will be invited to talk through this opportunity with young people to make sure that this role is right for you.  You will then be subject to enhanced level DBS check.

What can I expect?

Delivery of the programme will commence from February 2016 onwards.  This is likely to take place at Wallasey Youth Hub and Moreton Youth Club  and may include other venues.  A date or dates will be agreed with you based on when you wish to work with the young people.  The full timetable will be advertised so as many young people as possible have the opportunity to take part.

You will be given an induction and supported by youth workers from our Youth Support Service and paid for any out of pocket expenses.  There is also a small budget available to buy or hire resources (such as materials, equipment, etc.) for use with the young people.

Where can I find out more?
