This is a scheme to tackle anti-social behaviour and low level crime in Wirral. It’s run by the council in conjunction with local authorities and social housing providers.
The Neighbourhood Justice Scheme brings together the person(s) who has caused the harm and the person(s) affected in a safe environment to reach an agreed outcome. This encourages the perpetrator to acknowledge the impact of their actions on others. It also gives them the opportunity to make good the harm caused.
A restorative justice approach has been proven to reduce the risk of further offences being committed and to stop any conflict from escalating further.
If you’ve been a victim, it’s up to you if you wish to take part in the scheme. If you do, you can be referred by local authorities or social housing groups.
