Welcome To Wirral

Walking and Cycling

Walking and cycling are healthy forms of transport, do no harm to the environment and are fun recreational activities.

There is something for everyone by bike in Wirral - from family cycling on the Wirral Way within Wirral Country Park, to the many bridleways in the borough. Wirral also boasts nearly 55 miles of signposted cycle routes, including part of the National Cycle Network that links Wirral with Liverpool and North Wales.

Wirral is well served for walking with over 75 miles of public rights of way around the coast line or within one of the many and varied country parks. There is such diversity of walking terrain, encompassing woodlands, heathlands, parklands, promenades and beaches. Wirral's rich culture and heritage can easily be discovered on foot. You can walk through beautiful countryside, stumble on pretty villages or walk along miles of beaches with clear views of the Welsh shore on one side and the World-famous Liverpool skyline on the other.

More information can be found at Visit Wirral web site.
