Traffic Lights
The Council manages the maintenance and operation of all signal-controlled junctions and pedestrian crossings within the borough. To also make sure that all of the equipment is in a good and safe condition and operating in accordance with the requirements of each particular location.
Traffic Lights are maintained as follows:-
- Inspected every 1 - 2 months depending on location
- Junction emergencies are made safe within 2 hours
- Pedestrian crossing emergencies are made safe within 4 hours
- Out of Hour emergencies for above are made safe within 2 hours
- Lenses replaced twice a year
- Lenses cleaned twice a year
To report a fault with a set of traffic signals or a signal controlled pedestrian crossing (e.g. pelican crossing), please either call StreetScene on 606 2004, email streetscene@wirral.gov.uk or click on the "Request Service" button.
