CFCs
CFCs are chemicals which in the past were commonly used as the coolant in domestic fridges and freezers.
CFCs will damage the ozone layer if they are released into the atmosphere. We arrange for all fridges and freezers collected by the ERIC service to have their coolant CFCs extracted for recycling or safe destruction.
Fridges and freezers requiring safe disposal can also be taken to Bidston Moss Waste Reception Centre.
