The phone line also offers families and carers who are concerned about someone's drug use a unique signposting service to put them in touch with their local parent & family support network.
Accessing the ACT Helpline is easy. Simply call: 0800 028 1300 and a team of experienced, dedicated substance misuse staff are ready to take calls 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Where to go for help
These two documents provide information about available routes into a range of local drug and alcohol support services.
‘Drugs & Alcohol Problems: Don’t Know Where To Turn?’ is aimed at the general public to provide information on direct points of contact and support if drugs and/or alcohol are becoming a problem for an individual, their relatives or carers.
The Service Directory is an information resource produced to increase knowledge of the range of specialist drug and alcohol services that are available in Wirral and how they can be accessed. The publication also features a whole range of generic services such as health provision, services for diverse groups, housing and welfare provision, among others, as the DAAT realises that people affected by drug and alcohol use need access to a wide range of support and advice to meet their varying needs. The document demonstrates the DAAT’s commitment to adhering to a quality framework (Models of Care, 2002).
The Service Directory is intended to be of assistance to individuals using drugs or alcohol, their parents/carers, relatives or friends. This includes people already using services or those who would like to. It is also intended to be of value as an aid to referral to a whole range of service providers.
