Smoking Support for Black Minority Ethnic Communities

If you are from a black or minority ethnic community and want to give up tobacco, free local help is available. At Wirral PCT Stop Smoking Service, support is available for everyone.

 

They are able to provide you with a translator and the option of a male or female advisor so that you feel comfortable and have a greater chance of success. Contact an advisor for an appointment or information:

If you are finding that language barriers are a problem in seeking help to set your quit date then help is at hand. The NHS website www.nhs.uk/gosmokefree has resources available for download in 30 different languages. Click on the link below to access your language.

For Polish, Arabic, Chinese, Somali and other languages

You can call 0151 630 8383 Wirral Stop Smoking Service who can provide a translator for you.

Alternatively staff from The Multicultural Society (0151 666 4547) or The Laurie Centre (0151 650 5428) can make the appointment for you.

 

For South Asian

Call The NHS Asian Tobacco Helpline for confidential advice and tips on giving up tobacco. All lines are open Tuesday 1.00pm – 9.00pm.
