Welcome To Wirral
Community Recovery Service
The Community Recovery Service provides specialist support to adults (people
aged between 18 – 65) who have severe mental health needs. Experienced staff
from Social Services and Health work together with people who use services to
enable them to maximise their independence and enjoyment of ordinary life in
the community.
The service operates from three Resource Centres, each one having a link with a
local Community Mental Health Team. Although some therapeutic sessions take
place in the Resource Centres, staff work mainly with people in their own homes
in their locality. The service also provides residential respite accommodation,
for people who need to be away from their own surroundings and a centre where
people can learn Woodwork or Information Technology skills in preparation for
employment.
The service enables people to establish and develop supportive networks of
friends and the skills required to cope successfully with their mental health
problems.

How do we achieve our goals?
- We work with individuals (in collaboration with carers and your other professionals where appropriate) on a one to one basis initially and then in groups, leading to community activities and/or training and job opportunities in order to promote independence and maximise social inclusion
- We treat people with full respect and dignity.
- We provide support to people with their accommodation needs, enabling them to maintain their tenancy within the community
