Domiciliary care services
Subject to assessment of need, Home care can provide assistance with tasks related to daily living. People may need help for a short time until you can manage for yourself or on a more permanent basis.
Domiciliary care services offers help with a range of everyday tasks, such as:
- getting up and going to bed;
- dressing;
- preparing drinks and meals;
- paying bills and collecting pensions;
- shopping;
- help with essential household tasks;
- help with bathing;
- help with toileting/continence care; and
- monitoring of prescribed medication.
Registration
By law, domiciliary care services have to be registered and inspected. The Commission for Social Care Inspection are the government organisation that does this.
