People may need help for different reasons. It may be, for example, because they have a disability, have a disabling illness, or they are losing their sight or hearing. Others need help because they have a learning disability or have mental health problems that are making it difficult to cope with everyday tasks. Some people may need help because an accident has left them with a disability or a mobility problem.
Some people only need help for a short time to help them regain their independence, while others may need help for the rest of their lives.
