More about Wirral Fostering Service
Wirral Fostering Service is a local authority run service, which is part of the Children and Young People’s Department of Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council.
Our aims are:
- To provide high quality placements for children that match a child’s assessed need as closely as possible.
- To provide high quality supervision, advice, direction, training, support, and management of foster carers.
- To provide a high quality referral and information service to social workers, other agencies and the community.
The service has a team manager, team leaders, supervising social workers, support workers, and team clerks.

Each year we publish a Statement of Purpose and Function which is agreed by the council’s cabinet. This year’s Statement of Purpose and Function was agreed in January 06.
