Wirral Fostering Service - Be amazing - be a foster carer

You don’t have to be special, just special in the eyes of children and young people.

Is this you?

  • I can provide a safe, secure and caring family environment.
  • I have space in my home to look after a child or children.
  • I have a positive outlook on life.
  • I am patient, tolerant, have a sense of humour, and am good at solving problems.

We are looking for people from different races, cultures and religions - single people, couples that are unmarried, married or in a civil partnership, homeowners or people living in rented accommodation.

We do not discriminate on the basis of age, disability or sexual orientation.

We are looking for foster carers that have backgrounds that can best meet the needs of individual children.

What support will I get?

If you become a foster carer we will provide:

  • Financial support to meet the additional costs of looking after the child or children.
  • Training, including support to obtain an NVQ.
  • Support from social workers for you and the child.
  • The opportunity to meet up with other foster carers.
  • Activities for the children and foster carers.
  • Specialist educational and psychological support for children.
