Hearing impairment is when your hearing is affected by a disease, disorder or injury.
There are many different types of support available for people with hearing impairments. Such support includes the use of equipment such as text phones,which are aimed at improving ease of communication. These phones are often referred to by the brand names of Minicom and Talktype.
Hearing aids are also a very popular way for an individual to improve any
problems associated with hearing impairments.
There are also various interpreting services available.
Assistance can also be provided by support dogs.
