Brief description of service:
- Enabling and supporting families of children with Special Educational
Needs
- Every Local Authority has a statutory obligation to provide a parent partnership service. The Wirral SEN Parent Partnership has a SLA to provide the service.
- The Wirral SEN Parent Partnership provides a confidential, neutral, confidential needs led service for parents. Our core activities are governed by the minimum standards as identified within the Sen Code of Practice 2001. Our main area is to provide a flexible service for parents, by giving support on an individual basis as well as group support, training, clear information, both in written as well as audio form. Our website (www.wirralparentpartnership.org.uk) has many features such as an email forum for parents, downloadable leaflets, newsletters etc. Signposting to other agencies. The organisation works in partnership with all agencies and voluntary groups who have a concern for parents of children with Special Educational Needs.
- We have resources which can be borrowed by parents as well as professionals.
