Brief description of service:
Development trust providing community centre facilities and services/activities for the community.
Services within St James Centre include:
- Wirral Metropolitan Neighbourhood College – offering a range of full and part time courses
- St James Library (Baby bounce and rhyme Monday 11am; Story time Tuesday 10am; Adult reading club Thursday 10am)
- Bidston and St James Children’s Centre – providing family support and specialist health services (midwife, speech and language, physiotherapy). Family Drop In every Friday 9.30-11.30am
- Open Door Café – healthy eating community café providing high quality hot and cold meals at accessible prices
- North Birkenhead Neighbourhood Forum – community voice and umbrella group representing community, voluntary and tenant groups from across the North End and Bidston
- PADA – Parents Against Drug Abuse; charity providing advice and support to families experiencing drug and alcohol abuse
- Chair based exercise class (Monday 3-4pm)
- Slimming World (Wednesday 6pm)
- Fortnightly jobs surgery (Mondays 2-4pm)
- Bag a Bargain fruit and vegetable co-op (Tuesday 2-4pm)
- School holiday activities and seasonal after school club
- 2 community rooms for hire including large space suitable for functions
