Brief description of service:
- Preventative Family Support. Integrating isolated families into their local communities through peer support and friendship. Strong volunteer base. Also provide training courses (including parenting) and social activities for all family members.
- We have 11 Family Groups operating in the area of Tranmere through to Eastham including Bebington. Each group meets weekly during term time and is led by two Volunteer Leaders. The groups offer friendship and support and are especially useful for isolated families. The focus is on building the self esteem of parents as a way of supporting the whole family. Volunteer work is supported by a proactive and dedicated staff team.
- We offer a range of courses (including parenting) to members and have a programme of social activities throughout the year, both of which bring together members of different family groups. Most of the social activities include the wider family and there are some activities aimed directly at the children and young people connected to the project.
