Brief description of service:

  • Working with children and families to build stronger communities. Please provide a summary of the services you provide. Family Group/family support – this includes training opportunities. Support for parents experiencing isolation, parenting issues, illness and depression or clients who feel themselves to be socially excluded.
  • Nurturing Programme (Parent Puzzle). This is a 12 week programme available to other groups and organisations but delivered to clients already as part of the Family Group project.
  • Home Visiting Service engaging with families with children from 4-13 years of age considered to be at risk of offending. The point of referral is concern around the child but the team works with the whole family where appropriate.
  • School Team: Working with children around Emotional Literacy through the Second Step programme, Nurture groups, Circle Time, Protective Behaviours and our new Seasons for Growth bereavement and loss programme. These projects also work with staff and parents. These programmes are targeting children at the transition period Years 5-7, but not exclusively so.
  • Community Action Support project working with local communities around consultation and implementation of locally based groups and projects.
  • Protective Behaviours delivered in conjunction with Wirral protective behaviours network. These courses again are delivered in primary and secondary schools, to professionals within local organisations and in projects such as Woodchurch Neighbourhood Management. Clients include social workers, family support workers and foster carers and the Youth Federation and Health Promoting Schools.
