Web site translation service
The Council does not currently have the resources to translate its web pages from English into the other main languages used in Wirral which include, Gujarati, Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, Mandarin, Polish and Vietnamese.
But we do have a link to three, free translation service at babelfish which provides translation from English into five European languages - French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish and Asian languages - Japanese and Korean. All you need to do is cut and paste the text or the initial URL of the page that you want translated into the text box on the babelfish page, select the language that you want and the system will then redisplay the page in the language you have chosen. The Council also operates Language Line, which is a translation service for more than 40 different languages. If you need this information in your own language a free interpretation is available from the Central Advice and Duty Team.
